OpenCTF announcement

ESI CyResLab is very proud to announce our new initiative, OpenCTF.

The goal of this initiative is to broaden the scope of people interested in InfoSec and, in particular, people who participate in CTF events in Sofia.

In order to achieve that, we would like to note that unlike our CTF * BG competition, OpenCTF will be a team-based competition, however teams will be formed at the start of the event. The purpose of this is to create a pressure-free and welcoming environment for people new to CTFs and InfoSec. If you are a beginner in the field of InfoSec and would like to test your skills in a team environment, this event is specifically tailored to make you feel at home. Of course, we’ll do our best to give the “pros” a (metaphorical) run for their money.

In case you’re still wondering if you’re up for it, we suggest reading our ‘What is a CTF?’ article.

OpenCTF is set to be held at the 22nd of March, at the ESI CEE office (http://esicenter.bg) at 10:00 in the morning. We are going to release more details at a later point this week.

Be sure to bring a notebook* and we’ll make sure to provide a nice set of challenges, beer, and hopefully, a lot of fun for all lovers of InfoSec.
